Zero Motorcycles is getting ready to rollout its first 2012 Zero DS. The electric motorcycle manufacturer produced its first DS on December 15 and now the entire product line is in full production.
Last week, Brammo announced that Hong Kong officials would be going green as the electric motorcycle manufacturer became the official motorcycle for the Hong Kong police force and other government agencies. It looks like London could be going the way of the electric motorcycle as well.
Brammo announced today that it raised $28 million during its most recent round of Series B funding. The financial haul was led by motorcycle manufacturer Polaris, as well as companies like Alpine Energy.
The electric motorcycle isn't given the respect it deserves. At the moment, these silent two wheel vehicles are simply an afterthought by most of the riding community. But that's going to chance in the next few years. A new report from Pikes Research predicts that electric motorcycle sales are about to explode.
As the technology behind electric motorcycles continues to grow, so does the industry. Zero Motorcycles is expanding its operation to South America where the Zero S, DS and XU models are now available for sale and demo rides.
