Some of the best riders in Supercross/Motocross today are sporting the Monster Energy logo. Ryan Villopoto, Jake Weimer, Broc Tickle, and Blake Baggett are just a handful of the Monster Energy Kawasaki riders regularly making podium appearances with a can of the green energy juice in their hand.
If you’re a fan of these riders, or even just the drink, you need to check out a couple Monster Energy programs. First, you can pick up some new duds through their Free Team Gear program. Once you’re decked out in your new Monster threads, check out Monster Energy Gives Back to find out how you can team up with Monster to give something back to your community.
Monster Energy Free Team Gear
Nothing too complicated here. All you do is collect the tabs from Monster Energy drinks and trade them in for limited edition gear available exclusively from the Monster Energy website. It doesn’t matter what type of Monster drink you prefer – Monster, Absolutely Zero, M-80, Java Monster, etc. – as long as it has a pull tab you’re good to go.
How It Works
Different items require a different number of tabs. For example, a beanie will run you about 30 tabs while a sweatshirt can be had for 75. The smallest items, calendars and sticker sheets are going for 15 tabs each.
On top of the tabs, you’ll also need to send in $4.95 for shipping and handling. The only downside is that you have to wait 8-10 weeks before they ship out your items.
The Monster Energy gear you can pick up through this program isn’t available anywhere else. Many of the items, such as the Monster Energy Ladies/Junior Fit Tee, are being made available for the first time through this offer. Others, such as the Monster Energy Hooded Zip Sweatshirt, proved so popular during the 2011 Free Team Gear offer that they’ve been brought back and updated for 2012.
If you find yourself drinking Monster all the time, you might as well put those tabs to use. You’ve got a little less than six months left before this program comes to end on December 31, 2012.
Monster Energy Gives Back
Monster’s charity program was started in 2011 to support nonprofits and give back to the communities that support their lineup of talented athletes and musicians. The program gives back through a number of outlets whether it be fundraisers, charity events, or donations.
You’ll see Monster Energy Gives Back joining in with big charity events year round. Most recently, the Monster Energy Gives Back team participated in the 2012 Walk For Wishes in Irvine, California. The team, fueled by cans and cans of Monster, helped to raise $23,000 out of a total of $195,000.
Monster Energy Gives Back is also currently sponsoring a cause that hits close home for Supercross fans. Earlier this year Kim McGrath, wife of Supercross legend Jeremy McGrath, was diagnosed with Leukemia after only recently pulling through breast cancer.
Kim is now in need of a bone marrow transplant, and in order to track down a marrow match, McGrath started the Team Kim bone marrow drives. Monster jumped in right away to help and invited Team Kim to hold their drive in the parking lot of Monster headquarters in Corona, California. Over 600 people showed up on May 16th to join the national bone marrow registry.
Monster Energy and Team Kim will be showing up at a number of the AMA Outdoor National events over the summer, so keep an eye out for them and help Kim beat this!
