Henry Wolf, a California resident and BMW motorcycle rider, is suing the motorcycle manufacturer and Corbin-Pacific seats. Wolf claims the seat and design of his early 90's BMW motorcycle led to his erectile dysfunction.
No, Wolf did not have troubles with "getting it up", but rather the exact opposite: it stayed up for months after the motorcycle ride was the issue.
The Problem "Arose"
It all started when Henry Wolf went for a short 4 hour motorcycle ride on his trusty BMW. He had recently installed an aftermarket seat which he believed would ease those long ride pains. However, Wolf began experiencing severe pains that literally "arose" while on this motorcycle trip. A few hours after that ride, Wolf noticed realized that his erection hadn't gone away.
Henry Wolf sought medical attention for his never ending "boner", as we will call it. He claims the narrow seat and design of the motorcycle caused the pain, not any stupidity on his own part, which is still in question here.
Emotional Distress, Huh?
Wolf claims that he has suffered emotional distress over the situation and is seeking general damages for lost wages, expenses from medical specialists, and the trauma he suffered from having no more excuses for why he could not have sex with his wife. Fortunately, that 4 hour ride may have saved his marriage.
Below the Belt
I am just like the rest of the fellows out there during those long rides. Sometimes a little discomfort starts to form below the belt. Understanding that such issues will arise, innovative companies such as Saddlemen have stepped up seat technology and design of their seats to help alleviate those issues. Some of Saddlemen's seats are specifically designed to increase blood flow to that area, which in turn helps ease those pains.
Urologists have confirmed that erectile dysfunction may occur from riding, but they don't seem to have seen any other cases like Henry Wolf to compare to. I have personally experienced that if compressed for long periods of time without stopping, the neurovascular blood supply to your manhood can be restricted. This restriction in blood flow is not fun and can cause discomfort. In more extreme cases such as Henry Wolf, it can cause erectile dysfunction.
Needless to say, ride smart and protect your man parts. Do I think BMW or Corbin-Pacific deserve to be sued by good ole Henry Wolf? Absolutely not...Henry is a grown man and should have known to pull over and give himself plenty of time to recoup from the ride. There was no reason that this should have happened — unless of course an underlying/pre-existing condition existed with Henry.
So, sorry about your luck, Henry! What's everyone else think about this?
