For the 19th year Metzeler is releasing its Classics Calendar. This year Metzeler is honoring the land of the rising sun with a series of black and white photos taken at motorcycle events in Japan.
Metzeler writes in a press release: "The ingredients of this year's Metzeler calendar are unforgettable moments in motorcycling from the sixties and slices of history which have dictated the success of Japanese motorcycle manufacturers throughout the decades."
In 2010, the Metzeler Classics Calendar honored the Moto Club Classic Cuba, and last year they took a look at the Cafe Racer movement. In 2012 Metzeler will pay homage to Japan.
"An important part of international motorcycling history has been written by Japanese bikes," said Francesco Pietrangeli, Marketing Director of Metzeler. "This is why it seemed only right to honour them and the entire Japanese population at this particular moment, after the great disaster which struck them so fiercely this year. A disaster to which they have reacted in an exemplary way."
Only 6,000 copies of the Metzeler Classics Calender will be made in 2012.
