World, I have bad news. Zombies can ride motorcycles and shoot guns. In the fifth instalment of the Resident Evil series the undead brain-eaters have learned a few new tricks which could put mankind in peril.
The human race has been defeating zombies in movie theaters since the invention of film. But we've never gone up against motorcycle riding, gun shooting, brain eating zombies before.
But how can a zombie ride a motorcycle? Paul W.S. Anderson, the director of the new film, said that the zombies in the new Resident Evil suffer from the Las Plagas parasite, which apparently leaves them a lot more mobile.
Anderson said:
"We're bringing in the Las Plagas parasite, which I love because it allows the undead to basically run around, ride motorbikes, and shoot machine guns, which no one's done before. There's a great action sequence which we've been inspired by from the fifth game, which is where the characters are driving in a Hummer through the desert and they're being chased by zombies shooting machine guns on motorbikes. We've taken that and we've kind of run with it. We're not gonna use a Hummer this time we're gonna use a Rolls Royce Phantom, cause no one's ever done a car chase with a Rolls Royce Phantom before. And I've discovered why, because it's really, really expensive."
Resident Evil may work in a realm that's far from fact, but zombie riding motorcycles may be a step too far. But hey, if vampires and werewolves can be over emotional monsters, then I don't see why a zombie can't pull back a throttle.
