If you're going to do something crazy, why not get a thousand other people to do it with you. That way, when the cops show up, only a small percent will get tickets. That was the theory behind the "Ride of the Century," which saw 1500 bikers popping wheelies down a Missouri highway.

According to Jalopnik, the ride was organized by the Streetfighters, a St. Louis area group, and about 1,500 bikes showed up.

A few riders were pulled over and given tickets for "careless and imprudent driving" but the majority of riders simply blew by overwhelmed officers.

The Streetfighters say that they don't speed and they are almost always in control of their bikes. But of course, a crash will happen every now and then.
