Carbon-Monoxide Kills 5 at Charity Motorcycle Fest

bikers_who_careA motorcycle toy run by the Bikers Who Care a in Tennessee had a morbid ending on Sunday as five people were found dead inside a camper. Three men and two women were killed when fumes from a generator leaked into the camper during the night.

Police are currently investigating the incident, but no foul play is suspected.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that two of the men were working security for the charity event until the early hours of the morning on Sunday. The Bikers Who Care event featured drag races, bikini contests, live music, a tattoo contest, and free beer on Saturday night.

According to Bill Langford, the director of the Bikers Who Care event, the two men didn't get back to their camper until about 4 in the morning. Long after the other motorcyclists had gone to sleep.

"Most of them didn't get to bed until four o'clock in the morning, and most of those people didn't go in that trailer at the same time to go to bed," Langford said. "I just find that kind that of strange. Why didn't they notice?"

The Bikers Who Care charity collects toys for charity during the Annual Leslie W. Watson Memorial Toy Run. Each of the some 1500 motorcycles that participated in the event donated at least one toy to charity.

"Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of our members and friends, and we would appreciate if everybody will respect the privacy of the families," said Booger Watson, the son of Leslie W. Watson.

The Bikers Who Care foundation also raises money for Camp Rainbow, a summer camp for seriously ill children, as well as many other charities, during the after party at the Clarksville Speedway.

The Bikers Who Care organization is a fantastic organization that knows how to have fun and do good deeds at the same time. It's terrible that this group has to go through a tragedy like this.
