The World's Fastest Motorcycle: Bill Warner Sets New Speed Record [Video] Hot

bill_warnerBill Warner wasn't satisfied with his measly 278.6 mph speed record that he set last August, so he hopped on his turbocharged Suzuki motorcycle at Loring Air Force Base on Sunday to set a new speed record and to become the first person to ride a motorcycle at more than 300 mph.

Warner brought his Suzuki to an astounding 311.945 miles per hour during his record breaking run at the Loring Air Force Base during the Loring Timing Association's Land Speed Race.

"We became the first motorcycle to go over 300 miles per hour," Warner told the Bangor News Daily.

Here's a video of Warner's previous record setting run at the Texas Mile.

Here's the video of his latest speed record.

Motorcycle records over 300 mph were being set over 30 years ago. These records were two-pass averages through a timed mile, for FIM (world records) they had to be done once in each direction. What Bill did was huge, but the wording should say first "sit-on" motorcycle to reach a "peak speed" over 300 mph. He did this on a non streamliner (fully enclosed) machine. Recent rule changes have allowed additional streamlining to sit-on bikes making them much more efficient than the past rules would allow. That and Bill's mechanical ability and riding talent allowed him to be the first to achieve this milestone. Awesome job.
