BOXX Corp’s Mystery Bike Hot

The mystery of Boxx Corp's patent filing runs very deep. Go ahead, try and search for more information about this concept, we'll wait. Find anything?

The BOXX Corp Concept

BOXX Corp Patent ArtworkThe single drawing available from the Boxx Corp patent shows what looks like and old-school suitcase bike; something akin to the early 1980s Honda NCZ-50 Motocompo. Honda called it a "trunk bike" as it was meant to be easily carried in the back end of a car; the idea was for easily moving the little scoot around for when and where you needed it. (The Motocompo may actually be on the way back according to some recent concepts coming out of Honda.)

The Boxx Corp design is slightly reminiscent of a Zippo lighter, with a rectangular shape that has wheels poking out the bottom, a small cut-out for a seat and handlebars set in front and above the centerline. And, the lighting seems to be embedded in both the leading and trailing edges of the construction, with the whole thing presumably collapsing down to be easily carried wherever you wish to store it. Given the fully-enclosed bodywork and the list of words trademarked by Boxx Corp, this machine will certainly be sporting electric power and propulsion.

BOXX Corp

The mystery of what exactly is contained within the patent drawing is further enhanced with the secrecy behind the maker, Boxx Corp. Their website displays an image of a cardboard box above the company logo with a sort of countdown clock at the bottom of the page. Right above the clock, in the same gray font colorBOXX Corp Box gracing website as the logo, is a statement which reads "Prototyping Program". The only other items on this page are three clickable buttons – Disclaimer, Info and Copyright – which lead to simple secondary HTML pages and an e-mail address for Boxx Corp.

We do know that Boxx Corp is based in Portland, Oregon, and has also trademarked several environmentally-friendly terms along with their logo. Words such as Core, Sun, and Hub are mixed in with phrases such as "Live Green" and "Breathe Blue" on this list. With such information, it remains difficult to say exactly for sure what Boxx Corp is building, but at least we know that they are looking towards the future of motorcycling.

The BOXX Corp Announcement

According to the website clock, we expect to have some confirmation on what this new vehicle is intended to be on or around 16 September of this year. As to the question of where and how the machine will be unveiled, we will have to wait until an announcement is made. Until that time, the mystery Boxx Corp bike will be just that – mysterious...
