Nembo Motociclette is presenting a new twist in motorcycle design with the "Super 32 rovescio" an inverted triple 2000cc motorcycle engine. Daniele ‘Titus’ Sabatini with the motor engineering team led by the Chief Engineer Giovanni Mariani and designed by Alessandro Sobacchi, Fabio Falcone and Marco Fasani.
Inverted engines have been used for a in the past in airplane engines such as the Ranger L-440 an air-cooled, inverted, in-line engine used in Fairchild PT-19. The design of an inverted engine is sound and has been used for many years; it will be interesting to see how well this new design will work in motorcycles.
Daniele commented “Inverting the engine allowed me to achieve these results. I’ve designed and built a motorcycle, the "SUPER 32", around the engine, where the engine, by mean of a super compact crankcase, totally placed over the cylinders and the heads, works as a real chassis, while the heads and cylinders do not participate in any way in the structural functions."
Another unique design from a small shop, reminds me of a designer I met a few years back, Eric Buell. The Nembo website address is www.nembomotociclette.com, the website is still under construction at this time.
