Larger than Life 1098

GuenevereSchwienDucati1098

Guenevere Schwien is an award winning artist whose large scale paintings grab your attention. She is a classically trained painter who graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Guenevere knowledge of carpentry helps her build her large canvases as she prefers to paint on wood.  Her passion for motorcycles and painting create one of a kind artwork that elevates the sport of motorcycling.

Her latest project is a nine foot tall and six foot wide image of the tail end of a red Ducati 1098. Guenevere took photos of her motorcycles and studied compositions to understand on how to frame the bike. The shot she used was a  wonderful view of the rear wheel and the bottom of an exhaust system. Guenevere commented "The day I finished, I didn’t know what to do with myself" .

The painting was displayed for two weeks at MotoCorsa, Guenevere’s hometown Ducati dealership in Portland, Oregon. The painting has since been turned over to the person who commissioned the work. The full process of the painting has been documented on video and should be released on Guenevere’s website in the near future.
