Two ranking members of the Vagos Motorcycle Club have been convicted of torturing and killing a prospective member of the club in Southern California. On Tuesday, December 7, 47-year-old Keith Allen Silva and 35-year-old David Anthony Beltran were found guilty of in the death of 34-year-old Dennis Daoussis. Silva was the president of Berdoo Chapter and Beltran was the sergeant at arms of the Inland Empire Chapter.
The killing took place in April of 2003. Daoussis was beaten, bound with zip ties and duct tape, killed, and later dumped in the Mojave Desert. The torture and killing was the result of a motorcycle sale gone bad. Daoussis allegedly made off with $3000 which was given to him to buy a motorcycle.
Interestingly, Beltran and Silva were convicted, in part, through testimony given by Vagos club members. Five members or former members of the club were granted immunity for their testimony. Four of them witnessed the beating of the victim. This kind of cooperation from members of an outlaw club is unprecedented.
Silva faces a sentence of 95 to 105 years to life in state prison. Beltran faces about 65 to 75 years to life in state prison.

That's assuming their cooperation was voluntary and not forced. If forced, then it doesn't mean much beyond what happens when one criminal turns on his own brothers to get a better deal.
