Ninja ZX-10R launching at the Losail International Circuit Hot

Kawasaki_Ninja_ZX-10R-track

Kawasaki has launched a superbike for the street, the Ninja ZX-10R that provides 190 plus horsepower to send you along your way. Combine this motorcycle with a location where you can use all this power, Losail International Circuit. Toss in some Tom Sykes and you now have one of best product launches you could imagine.

Kawasaki's latest flagship superbike the ZX-10R is lighter than last year’s model; the bike weighs in at 436 pounds. The 998cc, 16-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled inline-four engine stuffed into the Ninja superbike develops 197 horsepower and 207 horsepower with the ram air. To help control all this power Kawasaki has provided a Power Mode selector with a variable Middle mode. In addition to Full power mode, the Ninja ZX-10R comes with two additional modes (Middle, Low), allowing riders to select power delivery to suit preference and conditions.

The mode options are:
Full - Full power operation
Middle - Variable operation depending on throttle application
Low - Limited operation (about 60% of full)

Keeping all this power to the ground is done through the Horizontal Back-link rear suspension and the BPF (Big Piston Front fork). The new rear suspension positions the shock unit and linkage above the swing arm. This new arrangement offers a number of benefits, including increased road holding and smoother suspension action. The new BPF with 43 mm inner tube is one of the great contributing factors to the new Ninja ZX-10R’s enhanced composure under braking. The larger surface area allows the damping pressure to be reduced; reducing the damping pressure allows the slide pipe to move more smoothly. The result is greater control when the motorcycle weight shifts forward when braking, giving more stability when entering a corner. To complete the package this motorcycle has a traction control system, the S-KTRC (Sport-Kawasaki TRaction Control) which is based on MotoGP racing technology.

Here are some interesting comments we found on twitter on the bike launch from @paulhood.
"Just finished 1st full session: maximum attack, full power mode. A-mazing. S1000R beater? I'd bet yes."

"@iD4VE #ZX10R - think S1000R: but lighter, definitely more power (claim 200bhp) & brilliant traction control keeps it manageable."

"Wow, the all-new ZX-10R #nextninja is a contender. Big time. New king? I say yes."

"@Feners yes,it's a good 'un. The 'wheel lift' control rocks; it'll hold a constant 10" wheelie on the power, low enough to keep on it"

Sounds like @paul is a true believer of this new superbike.
