Az Heydari works in a hospital intensive care unit, thus you can ascertain she is dedicated to health and helping people. What may not be easy to deduce is how she uses this passion for bringing medical assistance to people all over Africa. Back in April, she put herself through the grueling Paris Marathon with her singular purpose being to raise money to help those without regular access to healthcare. Heydari participated in that event for the MotoGP-related Riders for Health organization and raised not only money for them, but awareness as well. For her next project, though, she will travel much further and run even more for the same great cause.
Starting in November of this year, Heydari will begin her journey to each and every circuit to which the MotoGP teams ventured this year. She will circumnavigate tracks from Qatar’s Losail to Australia’s Phillip Island and all of it to raise money for Riders for Health’s work. In preparation for this incredible effort, Heydari has already begun to raise funds. So far she has managed to pull in US$14,410 (£9129) with a goal of achieving around $24,000 (£15,000).
To give you an idea of just how much this will help, Riders for Health estimates that the money Heydari has already amassed is enough to equip three provincial workshops in Zimbabwe with decent tools. They can use that equipment to keep both two and four-wheeled vehicles running and delivering health care to those who need it most but live very far away from the nearest clinics. This is her ideal – this is her goal. Bringing health to everyone is what Heydari is running for…
