Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations Returns to the US in 2010 Hot

There is something special about sporting events that bring together athletes from around the world…you know the Olympics, The World Cup, and MotoGP.  Add to that list the 2010 Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations.  This is an event with a rich history.  The first Motocross of Nations was held in the Netherlands, on July 20th, 1947.  At that race, three nations were invited, the Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain.

On September 25th and 26th, the event returns to American soil for only the third time in the 64 year history of the race.  The venue will be the Thunder Valley Motocross Park in Lakewood, CO.  The race format is unique with each national team composed of 3 riders.  Although the riders share a common nation, they most often compete on bikes by different manufacturers. For example, the American team is made up of Ryan Dungey on a Suzuki, and Trey Canard and Andrew Short both on Hondas.

A total of 32 countries will be represented in the international event.  Below is a list of the last 10 venues and winners.  For more information visit: http://www.redbullmxon.com/news.html
