Iconic 1929 Photograph Being Recreated on Pismo Beach Hot

They say you can never go back. Well the folks organizing the Pismo Beach Motorcycle Classic are going to try to disprove that old adage in September.

So here is the back story. In June of 1929, a mass of riders gathered on Pismo Beach, California for a photograph that has become part of West Coast motorcycling history. The panoramic photo was taken to commemorate that year’s rally of the Western Federation of Motorcyclists.

The Pasadena Motorcycle Club and the San Francisco Motorcycle Club are organizing a rally and a photo opportunity that recreates that original image. Several rides are scheduled to conclude at the Pismo Beach location. All participants will have an opportunity to repeat history as part of the new panoramic photograph.

In addition to the photograph event, the rally will include music, food, memorabilia, and giveaways. The organizers expect over 500 participants from the US and Canada. That should make for quite a panoramic photo! The event will take place on September 18th and 19th. Now who says you can never go back?
