I would love to ride up 119 through Charleston,WV then hit 33 afterwards. I went that route many years ago when i lived in Baltimore,MD(I live in Charleston,S.C. now) and I remember thinking then how awesome it would be to ride my bike through there someday. That has been over 10 years ago and as things get busy with life i still haven't been able to make it back there to accomplish that goal, maybe one day i can finally take a vacation up that way and do so.

The New River area is wonderful and we've ridden over/under the New River Gorge Bridge. I'd really love to ride in the western part of the state and see Marshall College from the inspiring movie "We Are Marshall". It would also be nice to ride around Beech Fork Lake and any nice country roads on the outskirts of Charleston.

As the blurb states, "On these rides you will cross over an estimated 30 mountains and 20 streams, wind your way down a beautiful twisting highway, and visit quaint towns and an outdoorsman paradise. Don’t forget to stop at the state park sites along the way." Doesn't that just sound delightful? I can almost smell the fresh, clean air streaming thru my helmet.

Thanks for the opportunity :-)

A nice jump off of the New River Gorge Bridge and getting lost in the twisties on the way back to Pittsburgh. Why haven't I done this yet?

Where to ride in West Virginia? We would look for the twistiest, most scenic roads we can find. We'd buy a map and start wandering to anywhere our hearts desired. In West Virginia, you really can't go wrong. All of the roads lead to beauty and freedom! It's not the destination, it's the journey that counts!

I have been planning this
Trip for awhile. From central Ky I would tour through some of eastern Kentucky's most scenic back roads enjoying the beauty of my home state. The New River Bridge has been a destination on my favorite places to go list and this would be a great opportunity to tour the sweet WV next door neighbor's

West Virginia - Take every winding road to see where it leads, stop by the river to cool down, ride up the mountain, take in the scenic breathtaking views, then ride until the sun sets. Pitch a small tent, Camp out and listen for the night wild life. Watch the stars bring to life the night sky, sleep away the dark hours in the cool night air. Sleep fast, because the road is ready to unroll in the morning, two wheels, one free spirit, on to the next valley, the next mountain, the next river. Simply stunning.

Aloha,
I'm just a country boy whose been living in Hawaii for the past 16 years and while it is truly beautiful, it's nothing like riding those wild and wonderful West Virginia roads! I would love to show my fiancee (who grew up in the islands) the untamed scenic beauty and rich, historical heritage that combine to make West Virginia so unique among the fifty states... and besides, I miss my mountains!

In WV it is hard to find a road that isn't a wonderful ride. Almost every road, with exception of one lane tracks in the mountains, offer excellent pavement and modest to no traffic. One lane tracks can present challenges (potholes, streams, etc.) but also offer beautiful views and great people. Just returned from a two day trip to WV and the roads and people are unmatched. A GPS really comes in handy. Not to plan rides, but to watch for roads that look like they might be interesting. I have had some outstanding experiences by following roads that just "looked interesting." It is almost impossible to find a non interstate road that runs in a straight line for more than half a mile.
