Yamaha Feeling A Loss in Sales

yamaha_logoYamaha, on of the top four motorcycle manufacturers in the world, is suffering due to lack of sales. And it’s not just Yamaha that’s feeling the affects of a diminishing market. Harley Davidson reportedly took a hit to their sales when the quarter ended in June. With the worst hit in three months, sales fell 4.9 percent. Yamaha hasn’t taken such a hit to sales since 1984 when sales in North America took a 45 percent hit with 25 percent hit in Europe.

Plans are in the works to develop the same quality bikes but at a lower price in an effort to boost sales. One project, being released in September that will hopefully create buzz around Yamaha is their new EC-03 electric scooter. Until then, the company will make a 60 billion yen cutback in effect from now till December 2012.
