Highland Inc. a small Swedish motocross, supermoto, and competition street motorcycle manufacturer suffered a great loss when a plane crash caused the death of three leaders within the company.
The two-engine Cessna 421 crashed this past Saturday in a wooded area 2000 yards north of the Tulsa International Airport. Members of the team that passed in the crash included company president Mats Malmberg, chief operating officer Chase Bales, and chief financial officer Damian Riddoch. The three men were flying to Jenks, Oklahoma after a business trip in Michigan, when the plane reportedly ran low on fuel.
The company relocated to the U.S. earlier this year with the hope to design a new line of motorcycles. As an engineering surface provider to other manufacturers, this will affect the industry here in the U.S. since they are a small company creating specialized parts for other local manufacturers. Using their unique modular system to build bike frames according to the buyers’ measurements, the company was looking to increase sales and marketing within the next two years.
Our thoughts go out to the families and everyone at US Highland Inc.
