This past Sunday, riders took part in the 88th annual race to the top of America’s Mountain, also known as Pikes Peak. The 12.42 mile course is adorned with 156 turns and some grueling dirt terrain. Mountain height, at the start of the race, is about 9,390 feet and ends at an incredible 14,110 foot summit peak. As the race gets closer to the top of the mountain the air thins which ultimately affects rider’s reflexes and zaps about 30% engine power.
Take a look at this short film as it follows Greg Tracy, Team Ducati Spider Grips, and Gary Tracy, 2010 750cc Champion before they race to the top at Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb.
