An Electric Motorcycle At The White House Hot

bikesHow far would you ride to have your ideas heard about the recent transportation crisis? Two regular guys, Dave Schiff and Brian Wismann, decided to take matters into their own hands when they set off on a mission to The White House. The employees of Brammo, an electric motorcycle manufacturer, decided to trace the route taken in 2008 by the Big 3 automotive CEOs with Detroit as the starting point.

The main difference between the trips? Instead of asking for government loans like the Big 3, Schiff and Wismann simply wanted to share their homegrown solution to the U.S. transportation crisis with President Obama. They also didn’t travel on a luxury jet instead they hopped on a Brammo Enertia powercycle, the most energy efficient 100% electric motorcycle.

The support gained on their journey was overwhelming. Hopeful American’s opened their homes to the travelers offering meals, a place to sleep, and of course…an outlet to charge their bikes. Media buzz also grew, as word of Schiff and Wismann spread to The White House.

So what was the outcome of this grassroots adventure? Did they obtain their ultimate goal of giving Obama one of their electric motorcycles? Take a look at their journey to The White House, and see the support they received along the way.
