Eva Hakansson and her husband, Bill Dube, are working together to design a record-shattering streamliner motorcycle. What’s so special about this bike? Not only does the KillaJoule break the sound barrier, it runs on batteries not gas.
The couple plans to debut the motorcycle at Bonneville. She knows that to do well in a landspeed race, they need to get the KillaJoule hitting 400 mph. For this first race, she’s hoping to at least beat Kent Riches 176.434 mph pass made with the Airtech-Lightning Bolt streamliner motorcycle.
Besides horsepower calculations, the two haven’t sorted out too many of the technical details. The front suspension has been engineered with the help of her father, Sven Hakansson, and the motor controller is being provided by Greenstage-Tumanako. The KillaJoule, once it’s finished, will go along with the couple’s passion for green designs that go really, really fast.
