Valentino Rossi, "The Doctor", is arguably the greatest road racer of all time. We should all feel lucky to be race fans in a time when we can see The Doctor "operate" in his prime. Not only is Valentino fun to watch because of his supreme riding skill and his killer instinct, but he also dons some of the most creative helmets in the racing world. His lids combine a sense of Italian style with Rossi's acute sense of humor. Here is a look at some of Rossi's coolest Helmets.
Hands on Head (and a canine tribute)
This helmet features Rossi’s gloved hands gripping his head in, what I am assuming is pure amazement at his own track prowess. On the back of the helmet, his two bulldogs are featured in a similar pose.

Fifties Vinyl Chic
Trading his moniker of Doctor for that of the Rock Star, Rossi featured this helmet at the Assen track in the Netherlands. Notice the dog theme on this helmet as well.

A Little Celebration
Rossi sported this birthday cake helmet on his 29th birthday in 2008. Valentino celebrated the event at triple digit speeds in Jerez, Spain.

Humility
Never one to take himself too seriously, Rossi temporarily renamed himself The Donkey in 2009 after a race blunder. The next race he wore this comical lid.

Sexiness
Lest we think that funny animals are the only things that grace Rossi’s helmets, take a look at one of the other interests in the MotoGP champion’s life – beautiful women. This helmet is far from the only time the fairer sex has graced Valentino’s head.

The Most Famous Lid
Even the most casual MotoGP fan has seen the Rossi Face helmet. It may be overexposed, but it’s still great. It’s another example of Rossi’s self deprecating sense of humor.
