Meet Michael Skwiat, the visionary behind Knucklehead Alley, a soon-to-be-opened vintage motorcycle shop in Tuscon, Arizona. It's the city's first vintage bike store, and Skwait made it very clear that "it's going to be two stores in one." The back section of the store will be devoted to building/rebuilding custom choppers and vintage motorcycles, while the other half will be a retail space that sells everything from vintage accessories to this season's hottest biker-wear.
“I don’t think either one would do all that well on their own but together it’s a great concept,” Skwait said of his two stores in one concept. "It will be like a mini Urban Outfitters," he continued.
Financing for the business -- which comes at a time when motorcycle sales are down across the board -- is primarily coming from Skwiat himself. Before taking the plunge into the motorcycle industry, Skwait worked in construction and as a real estate agent. He made a tidy sum flipping houses for profit, and the rest is coming from a private investor.
It's always interesting to see new businesses pop up, especially given the unfriendly economic climate. So, we'll kick the discussion to you readers: would you shop at a 2-in-1 store like Knucklehead Alley?
