The Hogs for Hokies event was held last weekend in Northern Virginia, and over $17,000 was raised for the Virginia Tech memorial scholarship funds. This is the third year the ride has taken place, and more than 200 motorcyclists participated in the ride that started in Richmond and ended in Blackburg.
Each participant was responsible for raising his or her own pledges and donations for the scholarship funds, which were established in the names of the 32 students who were victims of the 2007 campus shooting rampage. Over the last three years, the group has raised over $40,000 toward its ultimate goal of $100,000 for each of the 32 scholarship funds.
