Toronto Police Get New Motorcycles

BMWCanada3Christmas came early for Toronto Police officers when the force was granted a one-year evaluation period for the award winning BMW R1200RT-P. For consumers, The RT was named the UK’s top motorcycle in 2006 and 2007. The police version, also known as the authority version is the predecessor to the R1150RT-P.

 The RT-P is equipped with additional chrome crash bars at the front fairing; generally used for mounting additional equipment such as sirens; single seat with radio, emergency lighting, a lower ratio gearbox, increased capacity alternator and second battery.BMWCanada2 At 1200 CC’s, the RT-P has plenty of get up and go, with the ability to reach in excess of 125mph.Currently, the RT-P is used by more than 225 law enforcement agencies.
