Hays Machine Works is putting some serious cash on the line as it offers $10,000 to the racer who completes the first 6-second Pro Street pass. “Hays Machine Works is determined to work with Pro Street racers to give them whatever they need to make this a reality,” said Tim Hays.
Tim Hays developed the Hays convertible clutch system to help get those lower times. The convertible clutch can be used as a Single Stage Engine Driven Lockup, Multi Stage Engine Driven Lockup, slider, hand clutch. He says this clutch package can be configured to meet your needs as the racer. “We’re committed to enabling the Pro Street racers to speed past the last major milestone in the no-bar, street tire record book, and we will assist any racers in obtaining this goal no matter what it takes.”
The goal to reach the 6-Second Club became more of a reality after Bud Yoder ran 7.11 in a MiRock Superbike Series race at Maryland International Raceway last October and later when Rob Budgell ran 7.12 in Valdosta, GA for the start of the 2010 AMA Dragbike season. “The 6 second zone is closer than ever, and our products will play a role in reaching it,” said Hays.

To qualify for the Hays Machine Works $10,000 6-Second Pro Street purse the bike must be running the Hays convertible clutch system and display Hays Machine Works stickers on both sides of the race vehicle. The 6-second pass must also be the first ever in qualifying or eliminations at a MiRock or AMA Dragbike event and there is no need to back up the time to qualify for the purse.
Hays Machine Works located in Matthews, North Carolina was formed in 2006 to develop and manufacture high quality components for motorcycles.
