1650CC Monster Tourer Hot

motus

Something new is on the horizon from Motus motorcycle. American muscle will have a new heart and soul - a 1650cc liquid-cooled 90 degree, direct injected, dual OHV, pushrod engine. This new engine, the KMV4, will be installed in the Motus MST-01 motorcycle, created by the teaming of Motus Motorcycles and  Katech Engines.

Brian Case, Vice President and Design Director at Motus says, “To create the ultimate sport tourer, we had to either work around the shortcomings of available engines or develop a purpose built engine for our application”

Sport touring motorcycles blend the two largest motorcycle segments - sport bikes and tourers, by combining comfort and performance. Motus hopes to conquer this market with the MST-01 powered by the KMV4 engine, the world’s first direct injected V4 motorcycle engine.

Measuring only 18 inches at its widest, the KMV4 was designed for incredible mid-range torque and usability, perfect for the kind of riding we like best and unlike anything else on the road between 20-120mph. Expect detailed specs and other updates soon.

“The KMV4 is an exciting project that fits well within our capabilities and experience. We incorporated technology from our race programs to increase durability, performance, and efficiency,” says Fritz Kayl, co-founder of Katech. “We are ahead of schedule and are refining the KMV4 into the most reliable motorcycle engine made.”

The future for the Motus MST-01 looks bright as they get ready to compete with foreign manufacturers currently dominating the popular sport-touring segment with American muscle reborn and ready to take on the rest.
