No other motorcycle manufacturer even comes close to the type of support Harley-Davidson provides to female riders. From garage parties, to women rider month, to the Party at the H-D Museum; the company is making sure woman know they are just as welcome to pursue their dreams of riding as men are. On May 22-23 hundreds of lady riders will descend upon Milwaukee, with their rumbling, iron machines, pink-piped leather jackets and windblown locks flowing from their helmets, ladies will enjoy dominating the streets for two special days.
To kick off the weekend’s events the ladies will rally for a women’s group ride –men are welcomed to ride -at the back of the group. During the ride women are encouraged to wear their Harley-Davidson Pink Label gear to show their support for the Breast Cancer “Network of Strength.” H-D is also coordinating a Passport Ride to let ladies take in local Wisconsin flavor and culture through a network of dealerships and businesses.
Saturday night center Milwaukee will host the “Downtown Street Party” where enthusiasts can unwind from the day’s ride with live music, special guests and more local flavor. The Street Party will also provide non-riders a chance to hop on and ‘ride’ a Harley-Davidson for the first time, with the “Thrill of the Throttle Ride.” This experience is a stationary, but very real, Harley-Davidson that allows anyone to hop on, turn on the bike and learn how to shift gears in the safest way imaginable.
As a female rider who has experienced the energy of a Harley-Davidson women’s ride, I can only imagine the excitement that will fill Milwaukee during the Party at the H-D Museum. Check it out for yourself and see what it feels like to for once be the MAJORITY on your motorcycle!
