Savannah Faith Memorial Ride

Savannah Faith RideJasper, Alabama – home to a half dozen parks and twice as many scenic routes perfect for motorcyclists. On top of that, this year it will be the host of the Savannah Faith Miracle Ride. Head down to Jasper on May 15th for a day of fun, prizes and great food to benefit Madison Hester. This little girl is only two and currently awaiting a heart transplant. The Savannah Faith Miracle Ride is designed as a good time to raise awareness about organ donation. There will be live music from area musicians – Donny Grace, Black Roads and House 57. Registration for the event will start at 7.30am at the Carl Cannon Chevrolet dealership with the four-hour ride departing at 9am. During the ride through Cullman, Walker and Winston counties there will be various stops at landmarks as well as great scenery. The tour will return back to the dealership where the entertainment will begin. There will be door prizes, a delicious barbeque contest and face painting and inflatable play areas for children. Participants can enter their bikes into the contests for the Best Bike and Wash Me Please award.

Looking for a place to stay? Clear Creek Campground is located nearby the event and has a multitude of sites available for rent. The campground has a playground, beach area and miles of hiking trails. Enjoy cooking out at the on-site picnic area or head out onto the lake for some fishing. There are also several hotels in the area. Jasper also prides itself with several local eateries including Garfields Restaurant and Pub and Jim N Nicks BBQ. If you head over to Garfields you will enjoy the all day happy hour with drink and appetizer specials. While there make sure to try some of the Waffle Cheese Fries or Beer Battered Onion Rings while catching up on the highlights of your favorite sporting event. For the hungrier crowd there is the huge portions that make up The Whaler Fish Sandwich and the signature Honey BBQ Baby Back Ribs. For some true southern style barbeque you have to head to Jim N Nicks BBQ. Dive into one of their made-from-scratch entrees such as Hickory Smoked Beef Brisket or Karl’s Catfish Plate. The portions are extra large and the drinks are ice cold to help satisfy all your cravings. With all this excitement, there is no reason not to participate in this ride for charity next month.
