| 2009 Aprilia RSV4 | | The 2009 Aprilia RSV4 packs a mighty punch in a small package. The 999.6cc 65° V-four cylinder engine makes 180 horsepower at 12,500 rpm. The V4 engine is capable of reaching engine speeds up to 14,100 rpm due to the compact size and oversquare cylinder layout. The adjustable geometry chassis allows the position and inclination of the headstock, the height of the swingarm pin and even that of the engine to be changed. The RSV4 uses a ride-by-wire system to control the electronic fuel injection and electronically controlled variable length intake ducts. To transfer the power to the rear tire a cassette gear box is mated to the engine, and a multi-disk wet clutch, with a mechanical slipper system, ensures stability during hard braking. |

Aprilia: Shiver 750 GT | 2009 Aprilia Shiver 750 GT | | The 2009 Aprilia Shiver 750 GT is a half-fairing sport touring bike and although the bike is naked, there is no lack in technology. This half-naked sport touring bike is deemed by Aprilia to be the perfect combination of sports handling, versatility and value. Technical innovations include ride-by-wire, ABS, composite frame, and electronic fuel injection. The Aprilia Shiver 750 GT is powered by a liquid cooled 749.9 cc 90 degree V2 engine with four valves per cylinder. The ride-by-wire system has three selectable modes, sport, touring, and rain. Each mode delivers the proper amount of power and torque for the given environment. The innovative chassis design allows the 95 horsepower to be put to the ground effortlessly, while the ABS brakes help to harness that power out on the open road. |
