Motorcycle Daredevil Bubba Blackwell: Back for More Hot

bubba_blackwellThis summer, the legendary motorcycle daredevil Bubba Blackwell will re-attempt to break his own record for most cars jumped at New Hampshire’s Rockingham Park on June 12, 2010.

Blackwell’s bike of choice? The iconic Harley-Davidson XR750, the same make Evel Knievel used in his legendary career. The motorcycle stuntman will use this machine while attempting to clear 22 Ford Focus cars.

He attempted the same motorcycle stunt in 2001, but failed, almost dying in the attempt. He crashed around 70 mph, the accident breaking 19 bones, crushing his right shoulder and collapsing both of his lungs;  Blackwell was placed in a coma and on Life Support.

During his failed attempt around 9:30 p.m. on July 4, 2001, Blackwell approached the ramp at speed, but the surface of the track was chewed up due to several pre-jump runs. Bubba lost some traction and his bike slowed down.

It was all caught on tape, one of the worst motorcycle accidents to be filmed.

Bubba Blackwell record is a 20-car jump that he performed in 1998. Besides performing daredevil jumps, Blackwell also performs motorcycle stunts on a Buell motorcycle.
