I've tested many Ferrari's in my day. The F355 was magical, The Enzo was downright orgasmic, and the 360 Modena was an epiphanous experience to say the least. In the same hand, two wheels have always scratched me in a different way. The element of danger with precision is something not to be taken lightly. If you can handle the arduous mental gymnastics it takes to ride at 165+ mph with no protection other than leathers and air, you're sure to reach a level of joy that few experience.
There's an age old debate about bikes vs supercars. I've seen cars run almost equal lap times as bikes, but I've also seen bikes get owned by a Porsche EVO - and I was the one actually delivering the smackdown, so I have first hand experience. Now, in the bike's defense, the riders I was owning with the Porsche were not AMA superstars, so our boys over at MotorTrend decided to end the debate once and for with a head-to-head battle. The Ducati 1198S vs Ferrari 458 Italia. Closed course, professional racers, no excuses. Let's see who comes out victorious.
On a side note, where the Ducati will always lose to a Ferrari is the swag factor. And what is swag, Rodders? Well, it's the ability to pull up anywhere and just say, "This is my Ferrari." Swagger, just dripping from the Ferrari. You can't help but to get a little giddy when you see one. Ferrari's don't blend in, they make a statement...And that statement is, I'm rich, bitch.
To the untrained eye, all bikes look the same. Somebody tried racing me when I was testing a Ninja 250. Epic. So, you might get the performance, handling, and all round danger card from a bike, but there's nothing like driving, or just being seen in a Ferrari. It makes you think you're a better person, when obviously you're not.
