Quick Peek: Aprilia RSV4 Testing Hot

color-rsv4-r_cropped_406x375Had the pleasure of taking the Aprilia RSV4 out on the track today, going head-to-head with the BMW S1000 RR. Gotta be honest, wasn't really feeling the RSV4. Not to say that it's not a great bike, but I don't think my skill level really matched up with what it had to offer. I had trouble getting used to the power delivery and the front-end seemed very light. Cornering was a little different because it had a much higher stance than the Bimmer.

My biggest hassle was the power delivery, very raw, but I just couldn't get the power curve together on the track. Also, it tended to stepout a bit. The Bimmer held it's line much better in my opinion. Overall the RSV4 is not a bad ride. Lot's of power, handling left to be desired. Uncomfortable as hell, but definitely a race level bike not for the faint of heart.

More to come!
