For all of those boring nights where the weather just is not in cooperation with your riding plans, kick back and relax to catch up on some of the biker flicks of the past. In 1991, many biker films (good and bad) debuted for the rider's viewing pleasure. From the Governator to extremely weird 90's hair-styles and Comedy genres to Horror; go ahead and take your pick!
Top Five Biker Flicks: 1991
Honorable Mention: Cool as Ice
Hahaha: "Ice Ice Baby!" You have to see it to believe it.
1. Terminator 2: Judgement Day *Winner*
As we all know- the Terminator films were always populated with plenty of motorcycles. The premise of The Terminator 2: Judgement Day is that a more buffed up robot tries to kill Sarah Connor's son, John. Some cool trivia (courtesy of IMDB.com) is that some studio execs from the film tried to get Schwarzenegger to talk James Cameron into cutting out the opening biker scene. Arnold's response was, "Only a studio guy would cut a scene out like that." As you all know Arnold would "Be Back" in Terminator flicks to follow, as well as a possible Terminator 5 in 2014.
2. Chopper Chicks in Zombietown
Three words: zombies, chicks, choppers. Winner of the 1991 International Fantasy Film Award, Chopper Chicks in Zombietown is a pretty typical living dead flick- so if you're in the mood for some flesh eating biker chicks then go out and rent this film! Fun Fact: Billy Bob Thornton was the star (haha go figure).
3. Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
Don Johnson and Mickey Rourke star in this biker flick that is about two tuffies who try and help a friend save their bar, when they decide to get the idea to rob a bank it ends up being a really, really bad idea. What I really love is that all the characters are referenced to brands. Rourke is 'Harley Davidson', Johnson is 'Marlboro', and Chelsea Field stars as 'Virginia Slim'. Nothing too crazy in this film action-wise, but still good fun.
4. Stone Cold
'Joe Huff', played by Brian Bosworth, is a cop who works alone at infiltrating crazy violent biker gangs. Bosworth, being a biker himself, had actually built the bike he rode in the film. There's been a lot of recent hype that surrounds violence in biker gangs today, so where's our Joe?
5. Born to Ride
Now, this could be more of a biker-chick-flick. John Stamos- HELLO LADIES! Nevertheless, this is still a great film to see tons of beautiful vintage WWII Harleys. They are literally everywhere in every action sequence in the movie- it's great. So, if you can stomach the faint love story, you'll love this!
