The concept presented here is honestly a bit too far-fetched to become reality by the 2015 year Igor Chak has attached to his creation, but, if it happens to inspire something new at Honda – very doubtful in that closed corporate environment - we riders will be very fortunate. Imagine a 750cc V-4 powered by liquid hydrogen which is both lighter and significantly more powerful and efficient than current gasoline-powered models.
Now, couple that with a sharp-edged design inspired by the 1970’s through 1980’s models of CB750 – the classic super-standard which changed motorcycling forever – and you get what you see here. There is more to Chak’s “2015 Honda CB750”, though, much more.
Chak has coupled the future-fuel powertrain to a fully computer-controlled system which uses a 5” OLED multi-touch display located on top of the fuel tank as an interface. The entire motorcycle is setup so that everything from engine tune, through suspension adjustment, to the six-speed dual-clutch transmission is interconnected and completely digitally controlled.
This ‘brain’ also handles GPS, triple drive-mode selection, and all diagnostics by making use of both Wi-Fi and 3G technologies. Diagnostics will handle fuel economy, lap times, top speed, and many other answers for questions you may not have. The safety features abound and include ABS, an airbag system, traction control, collision-avoidance radar, and a high-tech steering damper. Uni-body construction is done using carbon fiber, lightweight aluminum alloys and titanium, all covered with angular and futuristic bodywork giving it a very aerodynamic profile – minus the rider.
Yet again this is but a dream. However, the Chak CB750 has useful cues for a forward-thinking company who is interested in creating something with seriously good looks, compact dimensions and an advanced control system which is not far away from what is actually available right here, right now. Honda could build something very much like this, but for now it will only remain alive in the mind of Igor Chak and fans of his work.
