Kate Peck is a Aussie model with an international career who is taking over a month off to tour South Africa on her Kawasaki supporting YGAP "Y-Generation Against Poverty." While my title for this article is a pun, Kate actually got her big break from a TV series called "Search for A Supermodel." Well not only is she stunning, the woman rides hard and has a heart of gold.
Her charity tour began on November 24th and ends on January 13th and already her blog "CharitySafari.com" has some great reads and has me hooked on her venture. Throughout her journey Kate will be visiting development projects throughout the country, documenting her learning's and reactions. For a portion of her journey her father and step-mother, who are also riders, will join her.
The point of the whole trip is to establish a working relationship between South Africa and her YGAP charity. Additionally the media and content Kate will be producing is sure to inspire and educate both motorcycle enthusiast and fashion enthusiasts, whole will undoubtedly be following her journey online.
Kate will be visiting a number of important locations such as the Christian Welfare and Development Center, a Women's Shelter for victims of domestic violence and a center called the Nonceba Family which is a refuge for young victims of sexual abuse. Each stop she is planning to spend lots of time with the coordinators and victims, listening to their stories and capturing media.
Her blog is already filling up with pictures and stories, I highly recommend checking it out and researching some of the amazing organizations she is working with. Her venture is truly an inspiring gesture and excellent application of her position as a international model.
