Eva Mitsche at Skip Barber Racing School

For Eva Mitsche, the VP of marketing for KTM North America, the Skip Barber Superbike School was not only her first time on a track, but also her first time on a Superbike. Her experience lies with off road riding. However, she was very excited to have the opportunity to attend the school and ride Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca straight after the MotoGP had just left.

Of the three bikes available to ride Eva said that the “990 Super Duke was by far her “favorite.” “It was light and easy to maneuver around this very technical circuit”. She also said she “was apprehensive to ride the 1190 RC8 Superbike because of her lack of experience at the beginning of the event. However, the one-on-one instruction she received from Joe Prussiano enabled her to tackle the superbike on the afternoon of her second day with confidence and control, which in turn made her a much safer and quicker rider”.

Having never been on the track, she was impressed with how much she really learned about road racing, including corner apexes, body positioning and how to use the gas and brakes at the same time while tackling some rather complicated bends.

Due to travel, she hasn’t gotten the chance to ride on the street yet after taking the Skip Barber classes, but said that she was “looking forward to it and was sure that there would be a noticeable difference in her riding and skill level with all that she had learned at the school”.

She is already scheduled to attend the next Skip Barber Superbike School and looks forward to building on the skills she learned from this first one.

Eva was officially the fastest LadyMoto on the track over the course of this school.
