Solar power - motorcycle The MC-2 could very well be the motorcycle of the future. This stylish, futuristic, ant looking motorcycle was designed by Keegan McClain for the Michelin Challenge Design 2010. But the MC-2 has one big drawback…the chord. The MC-D is designed to be plugged in and charged from any solar outlet. It also has a few solar panels that could give it a couple of extra miles.

The whole point of a solar motorcycle, for me at least, is that you would never have to pull in for gas or pull over to plug in your bike. As far as solar designs go, I am a much bigger fan of Richard Grych’s design.

Lightning power - Apparently, with enough ingenuity, you can plug into just about any motorcycle aspect of mother nature.

The Yog, designed by Indian designer Arun Thomas for the Michelin Challenge Design 2010, uses thunderstorm lighting as fuel. Most riders pull over when the storm hits, but the Yog is a true storm chaser.

Hydrogen peroxide - Yep, you heard that right. A motorcycle Swedish designer known as the rocket man has developed a bike that is powered by hydrogen peroxide. The bike has a 0-60 time of 6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 126 mph. The motorcycle is more like a bike strapped to a rocket, but the good news is that when you crash, you can sanitize your wounds on the spot with your own fuel.

Electric power - The electric motorcycle is by far the forerunner when it comes to alternative fuels. There are many manufacturers who are staring to release eBikes, and events like the eGrandprix showcase the best in the electric motorcycle world.

Most electric bikes are still limited to the daily commute, but as technology advances, so will the distance that these electric bikes can travel.

Human power -
Who needs fuel when you can create your own power? motorcycle The Erockit motorbike combines the pedal power of a bicycle and the engine of a motorcycle. The engine uses the kinetic energy created through pedaling, and transforms it into electricity.

There is no information yet on how far you will have to pedal before the engine kicks in.

Xeon Powered Motorcycle Xeon power - Satan’s Ride isn’t about what it runs on, it’s about what runs it. The guys at American Chopper have teamed up with Intel to create this technologically advanced cyber cycle. Featuring rear-view cameras, a fingerprint recognition ignition key, digital speedometer, and electric powered hydraulic kickstand.

Oh, and the touch screen dashboard is a fully functioning computer complete with Bluetooth, wifi, usb ports, and GPS. The motorcycle specs aren’t too shabby either. Satan’s ride is a 250 HP bike with dual v-twin engines.
