The 2012 AMA Supercross season came to an exciting close this past Saturday at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Although Ryan Villopoto snatched up the championship title back in Houston, the level of intensity out on the track never dropped for a second.
The track featured at the GNCC Can-Am Mammoth was guaranteed to shake things up a little. Trail Boss Jeff Russell and his team carved out an “old school” GNCC course for Round 5 of the series in Park City, Kentucky, which translated into one of the toughest rides we’ve seen so far.
22-year-old Kaliub Russell has proved once again that he is a force to be reckoned with in this year’s Grand National Cross Country series. The FMF/KTM rider took home his third consecutive win at yesterday’s VP Racing Fuel Big Buck GNCC in Union, South Carolina.
It didn’t take long for Factory FMF/KTM’s Kaliub Russell to correct for a disappointing performance back in Round 1 of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country season. After tangling with some vines and injuring his left shoulder in Florida, Russell seems to have put that all behind him now that he’s picked up two consecutive wins.
