BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division of the German automaker BMW, has just unveiled the company’s newest model, the C evolution electric scooter. A spinoff of the E-scooter concept model, the C evolution is a near-production prototype scooter, which should be nearly identical to the version that ultimately hits the market.
Richard Walker, a former executive at Hewlett Packard, has been named the new chief executive officer for the Santa Cruz-based Zero Motorcycles, which specializes in electric bikes.
Zero Motorcycles, Inc. has announced that it is recalling multiple 2011 and 2012 motorcycles due to brake lever troubles. Vehicles included in the recall may suffer from a malfunctioning brake light switch, which may not activate until considerable brake level travel takes places.
Last month, the German automaker Smart, revealed that their all-new electric scooter would be released in 2014. Despite making the release date public, Smart chose not to clue consumers in on any additional details. That is until now. The company, primarily known for manufacturing microcars, has just specified several characteristics of its upcoming escooter, including its price, range, battery type, construction and tech capabilities.

A six-speed integrated electric transmission gives the bike the feeling and handling of a motorcycle with an internal combustion engine. If this video is an indication of how electric motorcycles, such as the Brammo Empulse, compare to gas-powered bikes, the only element missing is the sound.
