This may be the coolest thing I've heard all day: the organizers of the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival are adding something new to the mix this year: a motocross demonstration! I happen to know for a fact that nothing goes better with a '92 Shiraz than the smell of dirt and exhaust that motocross provides, so I'm pretty psyched about the whole thing.
On Friday and Saturday, musical guests will include Sugar Ray, Lonestar and James Otto. Pretty significant artists for a festival I've never heard of before! On Sunday, things will get kicked up a notch by the motocross demonstration, which will be dedicated to Jeremy Lusk, a freestyle motocross star and Temecula resident who died after crashing at a competition in Costa Rica earlier this year.
"We're not only promoting wine, the region and hot air balloons, but also local talent," said Carol Popejoy, the executive director of the festival.
