Most of our reviews here at All About Bikes are written on the newest “just released” kind of products. However, when I saw the closeout prices at Competition Accessories on the Speed and Strength 'Above the Influence’ gloves, I had to pen a few words.
I picked up a pair of these gloves when they were closer to full price, and I can tell you they are great, basic riding gloves. They are a combination of leather in the impact areas (the palm, fingers, knuckles, and outside of the wrist), and textile in the non-impact areas.
Despite the fact that there is textile incorporated to reduce the overall cost of the gloves, the rest of the features show no cost-cutting. There is a reinforced palm, high density knuckle padding, and hinged knuckles. The build is nicely pre-curved into a race-cut. I am very impressed with the fit and function of these gloves. They don't have the thin feel of cheap gloves.
All of the variations of the gloves are predominately black. The accents on the fingers and wrists come in red, blue, and silver.
The original retail on these gloves was $60, and Competition Accessories is closing them out at an amazing $25! Even better, they seem to have every color and size still in stock.
