Thought you’d miss Rossi at Laguna Seca this year? Not to worry, GoGo Gear will be making an inaugural appearance this July!
When we last caught up with Arlene Battishill and GoGo Gear, she was busy introducing the GoGo Gear line of women’s protective clothing in Milan, Los Angeles and New York. A lot has been happening since then. We asked her how her line of stylish, yet fully armored and abrasion resistant women’s jackets has been received since the launch.
Sales have been very good, and Battishill estimates the jackets are selling probably better than any other women’s jacket on the market right now. Dealers who offer the GoGo Gear line are reordering like crazy to keep them in stock (lucky you -- you can order GoGo Gear right here, through AllAboutBikes).
The response from women who have the jackets has been extremely positive. They really appreciate the design, the reflective details, and the wind cuffs are a big winner. They are especially popular in San Francisco and other metropolitan areas where women commute to work on their scooter or motorcycle. Not surprisingly, international interest is strong; and GoGo Gear has continued to expand globally to meet the demand, with products sent to Australia, Canada, Italy, Germany, Norway, France and Spain.
True to their mission to bring high fashion to protective gear, GoGo Gear is working with the haute couture fashion designer Lloyd Klein to create a couture jacket and coat. Always a stickler for a perfect fit, Arlene is working with her team on the final fitting right now.
Based on the great reception for the women’s jackets and coats, GoGo Gear is introducing a men’s line. Beginning in September, men will be able to commute to work on their motorcycles and present a professional appearance without changing from their riding gear. (Although personally, I’ve never thought a guy looked bad in riding gear!) The men’s jacket and coat samples should be ready next week and for sale in September. Check back here for availability.
The women who have seen the ventilated Cafe jackets, to be introduced in late June, are really excited. Arlene is accepting preorders, so if you need a ventilated jacket for summer, let us know. It’s going to be an exciting product in the market. In addition, she promises, “I have something else in the works that is going to be fabulous!” Knowing Arlene, we can’t wait!
