The last five years have been exciting for women riders. Apparel companies, organizations and motorcycle factories have begun to take notice of the ladies and cater to their unique needs. Shift in particular has been steadfastly developing their apparel options for ladies. Beyond slapping a pink decal on a male product, Shift is creating gear for women’s bodies, riding style and aesthetic preferences.
Shift’s Envy jackets are made out of a 600D poly fabric construction is a non-mesh textile, breathable enough to be cool in the summer, but strong enough to hold during a crash. The jacket comes with CE approved shoulder and elbow pads and a pocket for a back protector. I will note the jacket does not come with adequate back protection, so do some research and buy one to slip into the provided pocket.
The jacket provides quality zippers and snaps and plenty of pockets to stash all those things normally kept in your purse. My favorite feature on the Shift Envy jacket is the length on the back. The aggressive position of a sport bike always caused my fitted jackets to creep up, exposing my lower back and giving me the most horrendous sunburn strips. The Envy provides additional material to cover the lower back –taking care of a cool draft and those pesky burns. Beyond the length, the jacket was definitely created to fit a woman, with narrow shoulders, a fitted waist and extra room in the chest. I feel feminine wearing the jacket, not uncomfortably squeezed into something not made for me.
The jacket comes in simple, sexy black and a plethora of wild, eye-catching designs to satisfy even the most wild biker girl. If you’re thinking about adding a warm-weather jacket to your collection, the Envy is worthy in style, comfort and safety.
