Organ Cave

Organ Cave – Located just nine miles from The Greenbrier World renown resort, Organ Cave is a natural wonder. Listed as a Natural Historic Landmark, with over 45 miles of mapped passages, it is the second largest commercial cave in the eastern United States. It is the 29^th largest cave in the world and shows signs of being explored as early as 1704. The cave has played an important roll in U.S. history…as a hid out for 1,000 Confederate soldiers during the Civil War, as well as a laboratory for scientists in the fields of geology, archeology, biology, hydrology, and paleontology. Walking tours are offered and, for the more adventurous, extended exploring expeditions are available. There are adventure tours for every level of experience. (Tours available year-round.
