Mountain Stream Ride

As one of the best motorcycling routes in West Virginia, you will cross over 30 mountains and 20 streams as you travel from Durbin to Bartow. Along the way, be sure to check out Seneca Rocks. This feature is part of Monogahela National Forest and offers diverse terrain for riding and elevations that range from 1000’ to 4863’. Next stop is Smoke Hold Caverns for a cavern tour. There is also camping and cabin rentals available here if you choose to break this 150 mile ride up into two days.
As you are traveling through central West Virginia, stop into the South Side Depot to grab some grub or to see this restored piece of railway history. You will not want to miss the Mountain Explorer train ride at the Durbin/ Greenbrier Valley Railroad.
Another must-stop attraction along this route is Kumbrabow State Park. This park is the highest in the state and features camping and laundry facilities. If you are lucky you will catch a glimpse of some of the black bears, bobcats and grouse that make this park their home. Throughout the summer there are Live Bird of Prey shows as well. Before returning home catch a comedy show at American Mountain Theater and pop the top on a freshly made microbrew from Blackwater Brewing Company.
