Since Harry Bleiwise started Rider Insurance Agency in 1971, he has been dedicated to providing New Jersey’s motorcycle community with quality coverage at an affordable price.  Because of Harry’s passion to the sport of riding, he has taken many personal risks and has fought hard for the motorcyclist’s rights.

In 1977, the company insuring Rider Insurance Agency’s policies announced they were leaving New Jersey.  Harry realized this would put 22,000 customers at risk of being without a motorcycle insurance carrier.  He took a near devastating event and turned it into an opportunity to better serve his customers by establishing his own insurance company.  By doing this, Rider was able to lower their premiums while maintaining the same quality coverage.

Throughout the years, Rider Insurance has used its influence to ensure that the motorcycle community is treated fairly. In 1984, New Jersey passed a law imposing a $158 surcharge to all “motor vehicles”.  In order to prevent motorcycle owners from being over charged, Rider quickly rallied thousands of its customers to contact their state representatives.  Rider’s efforts assisted in the law being amended to include only “automobiles”. They also lent their support to help lift the ban that restricted motorcycles from traveling on the Garden State Parkway.

Today, not only is Rider Insurance the largest provider of motorcycle insurance in the State of New Jersey, but they are also the only insurance company exclusively dedicated to the motorcycle community.  Rider was started with the customer in mind and the customer is still their # 1 priority today.  In addition, they continually give back to the community by supporting a number of motorcycle related events and charities.
