May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month
Motorcycle safety is an important issue, which is why each year we recognize May as National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. As we begin to observe Motorcycle Safety Awareness month, know that staying safe while on a bike can include a number of things.
From choosing proper riding gear to dealing with distracted drivers, from practicing defensive riding to wearing a helmet, there are many factors that can ultimately mean the difference between life and death.
But knowing that and seeing the facts are two different things, so I thought sharing some motorcycle accident statistics would be helpful to see how biker safety really has an impact. In honor of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, here are a few stats from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA):

Practice Motorcycle Safety
At my law firm, we've seen the devastation that motorcycle accidents cause time and time again. While you can't completely eliminate your risk of being injured in a collision, you can greatly reduce your chances of being hurt or killed by practicing motorcycle safety every time you head out on the road. Doing so can help keep you from experiencing these statistics firsthand. Keep this in mind throughout Motorcycle Safety Awareness month and in the months to come.
If you have questions about motorcycle safety and want to know more about state-by-state helmet laws, insurance laws, biker safety tips, and additional motorcycle accident statistics, you can visit my firm's website – EdgarSnyder.com.
