Cortech Tribag Magnetic Tank Bag: Amazing Versatility Hot

TribagI spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about motorcycle luggage.  It’s a real catch 22.  On one hand, one of the things I love about motorcycles is the bare essence and the minimalism of the activity.  A motorcycle looks and performs best when it is unencumbered by excess baggage.  However, motorcycling is also about travel and adventure, and for this you need to take stuff with you.  Over my years of motorcycle travel, I have come to the realization that a good tank bag is a great thing.

The Cortech Tribag Magnetic Tank Bag is a model of function and adaptability.  First off, Cortech (by Tour Master) makes good stuff.  I have used Cortech tank bags and tail bags over the years and I have never been disappointed by the quality of craftsmanship.  The Tribag system is no exception.

Basically, with the Tribag (as the name would suggest), you get three bag options in one.  For larger storage needs you can use the 24 liter main bag.  For around town toting, you can use the 10 liter top bag.  For extended touring, both bags can be zipped together for a truly cavernous capacity.

I really like the versatility and adaptability of the unit.  It features four external zipper pockets and one mesh pocket.  It has a soft tricot interior lining and internal side support panels which carry the load of smaller top bag.  It also has a top flap internal organizer pocket.

On the exterior, it sports a rubberized carrying handle, and a snap map pocket.  For enhanced visibility, the bag system has reflective piping and logos.  It has an effective zippered expansion panel for even more space adaptability.  Speaking of zippers, in true Cortech style, the Tribag incorporates very strong and secure zippers for all of its functions.

The peripherals on the bag are well thought out, too. The Tribag features a nice adjustable shoulder strap and hideaway backpack straps for off-bike portability.  With a bag that can change its shape so dramatically, weather protection could be a problem.  To this end, the bag comes with a two height adjustable rain cover.

All of these features and functions would be worthless if the bag did not stay securely positioned on the bike.  To this end, the Tribag incorporates a shielded magnetic mounting system in a very effective wide layout that keeps the bag secure in any of its configurations.

The Cortech Tribag retails for about $160.
